2024 Cartier Tank Cintrée Platinum Ref. WGTA0193 (Full Set)

Cintrée The Tank Cintrée has always been one of the more distinctive Cartier shapes. Introduced in 1921 as a stretched and curved version of the original Tank, it was designed to follow the wrist rather than sit flat. Over time, it has become a quiet favourite among collectors, appreciated for its proportions and how naturally it wears. This platinum reference WGTA0193 is part of Cartier’s recent re-editions and stays very close to the original design. The case measures just over 46mm in length, but wears comfortably thanks to its slim profile and curved shape. The platinum gives it a bit more weight on the wrist, while the ruby cabochon crown is a subtle detail that Cartier reserves for its platinum pieces. The dial is classic Cintrée. An eggshell tone with Roman numerals and a railroad track, paired with blued steel hands. Nothing unexpected here, but everything is well executed. Inside is the manually wound calibre 9780 MC, keeping the case thin and in line with the overall design. This example comes as a full set and is in excellent condition. The case remains sharp, with a clean overall feel. With only 150 pieces made, it’s not something that comes up often. A straightforward, well-proportioned Cintrée in platinum — and one that makes sense once on the wrist.
