Georgian Stag Intaglio Seal Fob
Cool Georgian seal fob with a silver rococo-inspired frame holding a carnelian intaglio panel that depicts an English heraldic emblem: a stag, couped. Couped, meaning it's cut-off at the neck in heraldry parlance. It dates from the very early 19th century, circa 1800, and - somewhat remarkably - remains in perfect working condition. Stick it on the end of your pocket watch chain (or, perhaps more likely, your necklace chain) and seal some letters with wax. Era: Georgian, circa 1800 Size: 2.8cm by 1.8cm Stones: Carnelian Agate Marks: None, tested as silver Condition: Good antique condition with soft patina. A small chip to the edge of the seal - see images.
