That indigo is not a colour you mix. It is a depth you descend into — a blue so dark it carries its own gravity. The same blue that ran through the indigo-dyed cloths of Mohenjo-daro, through the trade routes of Sindh and Multan, through the robes of weavers who dyed their cloth in vats sunk into the earth. Abyssal is a hand-woven 100% cotton shirt in deep indigo navy — a tunic-length piece with a signature quilted teal chest panel, mandarin collar, five-button placket, full sleeves with ruffled frill cuffs, and a hi-low hem with side slits. The self-stripe is woven directly into the cloth — thin white pinlines crossing the indigo field, built on the loom before the shirt was ever cut. The quilted bib is the thing. A hand-stitched teal panel in diamond lattice sits over the chest — a nod to rilli patchwork, to Sindhi quilting, to the layered textiles women in this region have been making with their hands for centuries. It is decorative and structural at once. Wear it with wide white cotton trousers for a long lunch. With a shawl for a winter dawat. With the sleeves rolled back to show the frill detail at tea. This is the Voile shirt for the woman who wants to be remembered in a room without saying a word. About my fabric. I was made with 100% fine cotton, making me a breathable fabric. How I was woven? I was woven by "Plain Kantha" Jacquard technique - a rare process that's almost extinct in Pakistan. How much time did it take? It took my weaver 6 hours to weave entire Shirt Fabric.
