About Agua Colorada-Telesforo Agua Colorada is a small village in northwestern Peru, tucked into the Andes Mountains. The area is known for its ideal coffee-growing conditions with its elevation and climate. The name comes from a river crossing located within the village. The river’s water is used for washing coffee and also provides another income source: trout fishing. The coffee farmers say that the clear and clean river symbolizes the purity and quality of their coffees. The farmers in this area process their coffees in a couple different ways; this lot is naturally processed, meaning the whole coffee cherry is dried on the bean, letting all the sweet sugary goodness really soak in.
