The yarn begins with fleeces purchased directly from family-run farms in Alberta. By working with heritage and specialty breeds, Traceable Textiles produce a yarn with the right balance of strength, softness, drape, and durability for weaving blankets or use in other handmade projects. The wool is carefully sorted and graded by hand before being spun at Custom Woolen Mills, thereby keeping the entire process local, transparent, and traceable from farm to cone.
