With browned, sighted barrels, signed in full along the flats, ‘WESTLEY RICHARDS LONDON’ foliate engraved breeches decorated with two gold lines, profusely engraved tangs cut with sighting grooves, stamped below with London proofs, foliate engraved back-action locks fitted with sliding safety catches, half-stocked in walnut, cut with very fine chequering at the grips, with engraved silver oval escutcheons, engraved steel butt caps with folding traps, engraved trigger guards decorated with scrolling foliage on the bows: in an associated lined and fitted case, with all accessories including bullet mould, oil bottle, powder flask etc, the interior of the lid with trade label for ‘Manton & Co – Gunmakers Calcutta’ the exterior of the box with brass corner reinforcers and round carrying ring and vacant brass escutcheon.
