Mizukihara Uchigumori Japanese Natural Whetstone

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use. It measures 155 mm (6.10 inches) long × 100 mm (3.94 inches) wide × 33 mm (1.30 inches) tall, and weighs 884 g (31.18 oz / 1.95 lbs). Hardness: 3.5 Mizukihara is a western mine located in close proximity to Ohira. Mizukihara is revered for their rich history of sword polishing grade Uchigumori, which is a layer within the Tenjou Suita strata. Uchigumori are indispensable for sword and blade polishing as their unique composition creates a beautiful, hazy effect on the steel, known as Kasumi. All sharpeners can appreciate Uchigumori as it is quite easy to use and it's fast cutting, grit rich composition allows for medium grit scratches to be removed and replaced with a blanket of uniform haze.
