Portrait de la Très Sainte Vierge d'après Titien | Antique Hand Colored Print of the Virgin Mary
Strikingly beautiful, large format, 19th century French hand colored engraving identified as Portrait de la Très Sainte Vierge, after Titian. I loved the beautifully colored blue mantle and eyes, but I love the signs of age here as well: There is a very old damp stain on her cheek that looks like a tear. She would make a beautiful addition to any collection of Our Lady of Sorrows or Mater Dolorosa. The other signs of age you see are insect damage, as the print was found loose. Presented in a Victorian mat and frame measuring 22.5” x 18.5”.
