Laser Hair Removal

Brand: Body Treatments

Long-term hair reduction with advanced laser technology. Laser hair removal uses concentrated light energy to target hair follicles, reducing hair growth over time while helping to minimise shaving, waxing, and ingrown hairs. At Aesthetica treatments are performed using the Alma Harmony Lite laser platform, allowing for effective treatment across a variety of treatment areas and skin types. How Does Laser Hair Removal Work? Laser hair removal works through a process known as selective photothermolysis. Light energy is absorbed by melanin (pigment) within the hair shaft and follicle. This energy is converted into heat, which damages the follicle and reduces its ability to produce new hair growth. Because hair grows in different cycles, multiple treatments are required to target follicles during their active growth phase. Why Multiple Sessions Are Required Hair grows in three different phases: Anagen (active growth phase) Catagen (transitional phase) Telogen (resting phase) Laser treatment is most effective during the active growth phase. Since not all hairs are in the same phase at the same time, a series of treatments is required to achieve optimal long-term reduction. Benefits of Laser Hair Removal Laser hair removal offers more than simply reducing unwanted hair. Many clients also experience: Reduced ingrown hairs Less irritation associated with shaving Smoother skin texture Reduced folliculitis and shaving rash Long-term convenience Treatment Areas Common treatment areas include: Face Upper lip Chin Underarms Bikini line Brazilian Legs Arms Chest Abdomen Back Treatment Experience Most clients describe treatment as a brief warming or snapping sensation against the skin. Treatment time varies depending on the size of the area being treated. Following treatment, mild redness around the follicles is common and usually settles within a few hours. Frequently Asked Questions: How many treatments do I need? Clients would need 6-8 treatment sessions, depending on which area is treated. Also, to achieve these results, the treatment intervals are then generally between 4-5 weeks. Can I shave between treatments? Yes. Shaving is usually recommended between sessions. Waxing, plucking, threading, and epilating should be avoided as these methods remove the follicle that the laser is targeting. Why am I still seeing hair after treatment? Treated hairs often shed over the following 1–3 weeks. This can sometimes appear as continued growth, but it is part of the normal treatment process. Is laser hair removal permanent? Laser hair removal provides long-term hair reduction. While many follicles may no longer produce hair, hormonal changes and individual biological factors can stimulate new hair growth over time. Maintenance treatments may be required. If laser hair removal works, why do I need maintenance treatments? Laser hair removal targets active hair follicles and provides long-term hair reduction. However, the body contains dormant follicles that may become active over time due to factors such as hormonal changes, ageing, pregnancy, menopause, certain medications, or underlying conditions such as PCOS. For this reason, occasional maintenance treatments may be recommended to help maintain your results and manage any new hair growth that develops in the future.
