Cold Frames

Wooden Cold Frames are ideal where space is limited and additional growing space is needed. They are useful for hardening off tender young plants in Spring and early Summer. They can provide extra warmth in early Spring and late Summer and protection from the harsher elements of climate. They can protect from mild frosts. They can shield plants from rain in Winter, which helps to prevent rotting (condensation runs off glass rather than dripping off plastic or perspex). Suitable for plant propagation, semi-ripe cuttings, growing seedlings and for furthering the growth of young plants. Edible crops and other plants can be grown in Cold Frames throughout the year.
