This wonderfully versatile “ancient grain “is not only delicious, but one of the healthiest foods one can consume. Bulgur is made from Durum wheat that is parboiled in water, sun-dried and milled into distinct grain sizes. Krinos Extra Coarse Bulgur (#4 Iri Pilavlik) is larger than #3 coarse bulgur; each bulgur grain looks like half of a grain of wheat. Wonderfully nutty in flavor, this coarser bulgur is ideal for pilafs and stuffing and will add hearty textural goodness to soups, salads and artisanal breads. This delicious nutty grain also helps to balance the body’s pH and is a good source of manganese, b vitamins, folic acid, iron and magnesium. A wonderful grain for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters, bulgur is not recommended for anyone with Celiac Disease or with a gluten intolerance.
