Grape Variety: Molinara Producer: Il Roccolo di Monticelli (Silvia Tezza) Region: Vallata di Mazzane, Verona, Veneto, Italy Wild Scale: 3/5 11% alcohol Winemaking: Organic Molinara grapes were harvested by hand. A combination of de-stemmed grapes and whole bunches were fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel tanks. Aged in amphora for 8 months. No fining, filtration or added sulphur. This Wine: Natural rosé (or it light red? There are no rules!) wine made from a rare, old Valpolicella grape variety. Red berries, lemon, blood orange and fresh herbs. A complex wine which is just how we like our rosé. Notes on the Winemaker: Silvia Tezza is a young winemaker in Veneto who studied agricultural science before becoming a winemaker in the hills of Valleta di Mazzane near Verona. She avoids adding anything in the winemaking process.
