Flair Espresso Pressure Gauge – Pressure Indicator for PRO, Classic, Signature, 58 & 58+
Flair Espresso Manometer – Pressure Gauge for PRO, Classic, Signature, 58 & 58+, and 58+2 You pull the lever down. Resistance builds evenly and perceptibly – and on the dial in front of you, the needle calmly moves into the zone where a dense, sweet shot is created. Six, seven, eight bars. You're in. No guesswork, no remembering the last cup – just visible feedback at the moment your espresso is being made. The Flair Manometer is the bridge between intuition and precision. It shows you what's happening under the lever – live, in real time, without detours. The right model for every Flair lever machine: whether PRO series, Classic, Signature, or the bigger siblings Flair 58 and 58+. What makes the manometer special Pressure isn't everything when it comes to espresso – but it helps shape the aromatic window. Different compounds dissolve at different pressures and at different times. Too little and the shot will be thin and watery. Too much and it will tip into bitterness. The sweet spot of around six to nine bars is the result of decades of espresso history – and the Flair Manometer makes it visible. This sweet spot is marked on the custom dial with a scale up to 12 BAR. You immediately see where you stand – whether you are in pre-infusion, building the ramp, or maintaining a consistent pull. This doesn't take away the art. It gives you an honest mirror. Saturated brew groups like those on a La Marzocco, in our observation, deliver a more refined aroma profile than E61 – others see it differently. With lever machines like the Flair, the situation is different: here, pressure is not predetermined, but something you create yourself. That's exactly what the manometer is for. For everyone who wants to feel what's really happening during the pull. For everyone who likes to experiment with pressure profiles – pre-infusion, slow ramps, high plateaus, soft finishes. And for everyone who just wants to see if they're in the zone. You don't need it to make good espresso. But you might want it – because visible feedback is the fastest way to truly understand your lever machine. Matching products For the manometer to function, it needs the appropriate stem for the brew piston. For the PRO series, the Flair Pro2 Plunger Stem; for Classic, Signature, and NEO Flex, the complete Flair Pressure Gauge Kit with stem and adaptation piston. If you frequently transport the manometer, protect it with the Silicone Manometer Protector. More lever machine worlds can be found in the Flair Espresso Collection. For the right grind size: affordable and precise hand grinders like the Comandante or Timemore Sculptor; if you're looking for the stepped fineness of single dose grinders, check out Option-O Lagom. For scales, affordable and solid from Normcore, with app and flow rate display from Acaia. Frequent Questions Which Flair manometer do I need for my machine? For the PRO series, choose the PRO / Classic / Signature variant and combine it with the Flair Pro2 Plunger Stem. For Classic, Signature, or NEO Flex, you need the same variant plus the Pressure Gauge Kit, which includes the appropriate stem. For Flair 58, 58+, or 58+2, choose the special 58 series variant with its own custom design. Is the stem included in the scope of delivery? No. The manometer is a spare part only, without the stem. If you don't already have a stem with a manometer connection, you will also need either the Pressure Gauge Kit or the Flair Pro2 Plunger Stem – both can be found in our Flair Espresso Collection. Can I see the manometer before buying? Yes, in our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) you can experience the manometer and the corresponding Flair machines live. Available by phone during business hours or by email at office@coffeecoachingclub.ch. How do you read the pressure display correctly? During the pull, you ideally keep the needle in the marked sweet spot between 6 and 9 Bar – this is the classic espresso range. Pre-infusion typically runs below 4 Bar, then the pressure rises into the sweet spot, and at the end, you let it gently taper off. Important: There is no right or wrong. We are not the espresso police. If the shot tastes sweet and dense, the pressure was right – no matter what the scale says. How fast is delivery in Switzerland? Orders are delivered in Switzerland and Liechtenstein within 2–4 business days. Click & Collect is available at both showrooms in Bern and Zurich. Financing is available upon request. Which beans do you recommend for Flair lever machines? From the roastery: for a dense, chocolatey body, our Cozy Chocolate; for the nutty, round variant, Nutty Delight. If you're looking for maximum body without acidity, try Very Nutty. For fruity exploration, Wild Peach. Our opinion is one of many – other beans also work. Roastery Tip From the roastery: The manometer is not a teacher, but an honest mirror. Initially, many focus too much on the needle and forget the taste. Our advice – if any is appropriate: let the needle run, glance at it casually, taste the shot. If it's sweet and dense, the pressure was right.
