Shusui Koi 36cm Nisai – Maruhiro (EK7123) EK7123 is a striking 36cm Nisai Shusui from Maruhiro, combining the distinctive scaleless body of the variety with a strong line of dark dorsal scales and vibrant beni. Shusui are the Doitsu form of Asagi, and EK7123 is a great example of why the variety can be so visually impressive. The clean, pale body provides the backdrop for the dark blue-grey scales running along the dorsal line, while the red/orange beni provides strong contrast down the sides and around the head. Looking at EK7123 from above, the dorsal scale arrangement immediately draws the eye along the length of the koi. The combination of the darker central markings, clean surrounding skin and bold beni creates a fish that should remain very distinctive in the pond.
