Deep red bands of Agate surround the glittering Quartz crystal center of this beautiful geode pair from New Mexico. Whether you call them Baker Eggs, Thundereggs, Geodes, or Lithophysae, these fabulous stones have amazing minerals inside! Mined in the early 1990's this crystal-filled formation comes from the famous Baker Egg Mine at Baker Ranch in Luna County, New Mexico. Featuring sparkling Quartz crystals, bands of Agate, a hint of Amethyst, AND a few Calcite crystals to boot, this specimen will definitely add some glamour to your collection. A surprise mineral friend may also be in the mix, as this specimen fluoresces a vibrant green under UV light...perhaps some Opal along for the ride? The exterior of the pair has a bubbly, natural exterior, and the inside has been cut and polished to a high gloss finish. You will receive both sides of the pair.
