Hana-Jinsei

Hana-Jinsei ("Flower-Life" in Japanese) is the iconic photo series and photobook by Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki. Published to accompany his exhibitions at the Kyoto Museum of Contemporary Art and the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, the series explores the themes of life and death through intimate images of vibrant, fading, and painted flowers. Deeply personal, it reflects Araki's grief following the loss of his wife, Yoko, while also drawing on childhood memories of Tokyo's graveyards. Exceptionally rare! 100 pages, 25.8 × 33.8 cm.
