Description: Popular during the Depression-era, this clear pressed-glass water dispenser was a space saver during the depression-era. It allowed homeowners to dispense ice-cold water directly from their refrigerators without removing the heavy containers. Design: Heavy pressed glass, rectangular Art Deco vertical ribbed sides with texture – clear top and bottom. Lid: Matching round, loose fitting glass lid with underneath lip Hardware: Front chrome-plated spigot/swing-down tap mechanism for dispensing water, juice or tea inside or outside the refrigerator Rectangular, heavy pressed glass with an optical vertical rib pattern designed to sit flat on a refrigerator shelf Replacement seals are suggested. This vintage piece shows the expected signs of age and use typical for Depression-era glassware. Glass remains clear with strong ribbed detailing. Chrome spigot shows normal vintage wear with scratches and some peeling (as shown). Two chips on edge of glass lid (½” and ¼”) along with a few nicks on exterior and interior rim. Bubbles embedded in the glass from the making - normal for vintage glassware. Internal and external rubber gasket/seals for the spigot is worn, cracked and beginning stages of flaking and should be replaced for functional use. Water tested for 15 minutes, and some wetness was found at base of seal. Shipping/Packaging: Spigot will not be removed separately for shipping due to possible further damage to seals.
