Old English Staffordshire Ware Lee & Jackson at Chancellorsville Virginia Historical Blue Transferware Plate

A striking piece of Virginia and Civil War history rendered in classic blue transferware. Produced in Staffordshire, England, this Old English Staffordshire Ware plate depicts Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson at Chancellorsville, commemorating their last meeting before the Battle of Chancellorsville in May 1863. Framed by a delicate floral border, the detailed historical scene is beautifully rendered in rich blue against a white ground. A wonderful piece for collectors of antique and vintage transferware, Virginia history, Civil War history, or Americana. Measuring approximately 6⅞” in diameter, the plate displays beautifully on a plate wall, tucked into a cabinet, or layered with other blue and white transferware.
