The piece has a wide flared rim over a generous bulbous body tapering to a narrow foot, with dramatic natural spalting, marbled patterning caused by fungal activity in the timber prior to turning across the pale beech ground. Lawson is a professional woodturner on the register of the Worshipful Company of Turners and the Crafts Council.
