Abraxas

Chanticleer is the poetic, literary moniker for the rooster, the farmyard cock-of-the-walk, the main man who acts as an alarm clock, waking the farm animals and farm humans. Literally singing clearly. It is one of a number of rooster alternate names and this dense indolic floral perfume has a powerful shout of aphrodisiac ylang-ylang, wrapped in unctuous folds of tuberose and jasmine, dusted with powdery osmanthus. Cinnamon and clove bring spiced sobriety to temper any excess of lascivious ylang-ylang and tuberose. Bergamot adds brightness and order and Abraxas feels like the sun breaking over a summer garden, thronged with wildflowers, insects and ecstatic birds.
