They are made in the south of Nepal on the border with India. The traditional glass bead necklaces are worn by women in the hill and mountain regions in Nepal. These beads are handmade in small batches so there are sometime slight variations to previous stock. The close cropped images show the actual beads available. Our UK-sourced elastic thread is high quality and extra strong, with sufficient stretch for the products to fit without needing a fastening. Handmade by artisans in rural Nepal. The production is coordinated by a small Nepali workshop affiliated with the Nepal Leprosy Trust, which employs marginalised people, giving them opportunities through work; the relationship with AURA QUE dates back to 2006.
