Oz Family Cigars Maracana
During Tim Ozgener’s time at CAO, prior to its 2010 integration into Scandinavian Tobacco Group, the company released a number of iconic cigars. Now that Ozgener is fully back in the business with OZ Family Cigars and Crowned Heads, he has decided to recreate one of them: the CAO Brazilia. The new Maracana line, which is shipping to stores, is Ozgener’s modern take on a Brazilian-wrapped cigar. For that, it uses a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper over Honduran and Nicaraguan binders and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua. It is offered in four pressed vitolas: Maracana Robusto (5 x 52) — (Box of 21) Maracana Robusto Extra (5 1/2 x 55) — (Box of 21) Maracana Gordo (6 x 60) — (Box of 21) Maracana Toro (6 1/2 x 50) — (Box of 21) Maracana is made at My Father Cigars Honduras. Ozgener told halfwheel that this is the first time that the García family, the owners of My Father, has worked with a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper.
