Flea Market Item - Friand Tin Fancies 13

A charming collection of vintage French sewing notions in an old friand tin that we think would make a perfect pincushion! Nestled inside are gorgeous little pieces of French mercerie history that we have found during our adventures in the French markets. Included are a pair of small steel needlework scissors with a lovely dark patina, a traditional metal thimble, a reel of soft blush-pink thread and a generous skein of fine linen thread. The highlight is a matching pair of vintage floral paste or rhinestone buttons set with marquise and round clear stones in gold-tone settings. Their little flower-head design is missing several stones, but it’s this aged patina that we adore so much! Dating broadly from the mid-20th century this is a lovely assortment for collectors of old haberdashery, slow stitchers or anyone who appreciates the beauty of everyday sewing-room objects.
