Fits more securely than the original: The locking geometry engages more firmly so the cover stays closed in your backpack; open it with your fingernail at the lower edge. Installation using the original hinge pin: Pull the camera’s pin out downward, replace the cover, and slide the pin back in—no glue, no screws. Technical details Material: engineering plastic Color: black Installation: using the camera’s original hinge pin Replaces: original battery compartment cover of the Olympus mju II / Stylus Epic Description On the Olympus mju II, sold as the Stylus Epic in the USA, the same part is almost always missing after thirty years: the battery compartment cover. It sits on a thin metal pin at the bottom of the body, the locking tab wears out further with every battery change, and eventually the cover catches when you pack the camera away. Without it, the CR123A slips out of the compartment while carrying the camera, and the camera stops working halfway through the roll. This cover is not a replica of the original. The locking geometry is designed to be more secure so it stays closed during use. There is a trade-off: it is harder to open than the original cover. To open it, place your fingernail against the lower edge. Made in Würzburg; every cover is finished and inspected by hand before shipping. Installation The new cover runs on the camera’s original metal pin; a replacement pin is not needed. Pull the metal pin at the battery compartment downward with needle-nose pliers or tweezers. Remove the old cover and place the new one in the same position. Slide the pin back in from above until it sits flush.
