Hand harvest Maceration on the skins is followed by fermentation in temperature controlled medium and small stainless steel vats for 7 10 days with frequent pumping over. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally. Ageing: 10 months (including 2 months in bottle) – 20% new oak barrels. A jewel of incomparable beauty lies in the heart of Tuscany: the Chianti hills. In 1961, seventeen farmers gathered here to relaunch the local economy and give voice to Tuscany's countryside. So, it began an adventure destined to write the history of Tuscan wine: “Agricoltori del Chianti Geografico”. Its winegrowers have always worked hard to protect the ancient art of tradition and to enhance the excellence of the territory. The name ("Geografico") clearly identifies their deep-rooted belonging to the lands of Gaiole, Radda, and Castellina, the cradle of Chianti Classico.
