This is a birch plywood shoe rack in the proper sense: the panel is bent from Baltic birch plywood, then finished with a real wood veneer - walnut, oak, ash, cherry or wenge - so you see two things at once, the fine layered edge of the plywood and the warm grain of the veneer across the face. No particle board, no printed woodgrain - and, honestly, no solid timber either. It's real veneer over birch, which is exactly why the curve holds its shape. A curved shoe rack is harder to make than a box, and in a mid century modern or organic modern room the construction is the ornament.
