Laphroaig 15 Year Old marks the return of an established age statement to the Islay distillery's permanent range, becoming its first 15 Year Old expression in over a decade. Unlike a limited anniversary release, this expression is intended to remain part of Laphroaig's core collection. Matured for 15 years in American oak bourbon barrels, the whisky combines Laphroaig's characteristic peat smoke and maritime influence with the sweetness developed through extended oak maturation. The additional ageing brings greater integration between the distillery's smoky character and the vanilla, citrus and spice associated with American oak. Bottled at 46% ABV and non-chill filtered, Laphroaig 15 Year Old offers a different expression of the distillery's established style, balancing its familiar coastal smokiness with a more developed fruit and oak character.
