al-Farabi

The philosopher medieval writers called simply the Second Teacher, Aristotle being the first. Born in Farab around 870, he worked in Baghdad and Damascus and wrote the most important treatise on music in Arabic — he was a practising musician as well as a logician. Temirov's own faculty at Bukhara State University taught music and fine art together. Inspired by Persian poetry and history, the ancient art of miniature lives on with the artist from Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
