Tufenkian red blend ARMENIA 🇦🇲

Ruby red with garnet hues and slight cloudiness. Cherry, cranberry, mint, pepper, a hit of leather, rose, and violet in the nose. A wine with bright acidity, light body and smooth tannins. Food pairings: bbq lamb, dolma, pasta with lamb ragù, grilled aubergine with yoghurt and herbs, aged cheeses. Ready to drink now, but can age for 3 to 4 years. Grapes: Areni 80%, Tozot 20% Blend of two grapes from two distinct vineyards in Vayots Dzor region - Tap vineyard in Aghavnadzor village and Ortayol vineyard in Areni village, both planted mid 1970s. Yields: 49hl/ha. Partial whole bunch, natural fermentation with native yeast. Foot crushed, minimal intervention approach in winemaking. No fining or filtration, low dose of SO2 added right before bottling. Bottled August 2023. Alc. 13% A joint project of James Tufenkian and Yves Dietrich from Domain Achillée in Alsace.
