Rolex Date 1500 w/"Tropical Gecko" Dial

The Rolex Date (34mm) is undoubtedly discussed less than its 36mm siblings; the now iconic Datejust and Day-Date. That doesn't mean the model should be overlooked however and we'd argue that the slightly smaller dimensions feel even more elegant on wrist, especially in yellow gold. This particular 350X example, circa '74 houses a fantastic "tropical gecko" dial that offers a multitude of colors from blue, green grey and more. Clearly this piece has lived its own unique life and its one of the reasons we love vintage finds like this so much. Overall this piece has remained in good vintage condition. There is a touch of lume missing in some of the dial plots and in the hands. The case remains thick with evenly proportioned lugs. It's mounted to an earlier Rolex rivet bracelet which matches nicely. It retains 11 links shows light stretch and will fit an approximate 7 inch wrist.
