Edgar Gutiérrez Natural, ET-47
Edgar Gutiérrez’s extraordinary costa rican varietal might just be the finest expression of Panamanian terroir. Cultivated on the famed Corpachi farm, which sits in the mountainous Cordillera Arriba region. Volcanic soils, cool temperatures, and lots of rainfall come together to create the most idyllic landscape for growing coffee. For the ET-47 it's one of the earliest examples of the newly developed varietal being grown commercially in Panama. Here Edgar, meticulously hand picks the ripest cherries to ensure maximum sweetness and dries them whole for an extended period of time, allowing fruit sugars to to seep into the bean. All of this comes together in a cup layered with tropical luxness of mango, pineapple, and plum
