Vintage Boards marks the 2000s in Kahala’s 90th Anniversary Collection, drawn from original art by John Severson. Best known as the founder of Surfer Magazine, Severson was one of the most influential voices in surf culture, and through the 1990s and 2000s he created the majority of Kahala’s prints. Vintage Boards captures that era’s surf-shop energy, a rack of boards rendered in his loose, hand-drawn style. Reissued for Kahala’s 90th Anniversary, Vintage Boards is crafted in our signature cotton broadcloth, a classic aloha shirt fabric known for its crisp structure and breathable comfort. Tailored with vintage-inspired details like coconut buttons, a matched front and pocket, and a vintage-inspired collar, this silhouette mirrors the traditional styles that defined the era.
