Together, they create two contact points designed to help manage accidental bowel leakage. Insert with the included applicator, wear for up to 24 hours or until a bowel movement, then remove and discard. Important safety information Use only as prescribed and according to the Instructions for Use. Use only one insert at a time. Do not reuse or flush the insert or applicator. Do not use if the package is open or damaged, if you have a silicone allergy, or with suppositories. StaySure is contraindicated for pediatric use and for certain anorectal conditions, including recent anal fissure, Grade III–IV internal hemorrhoids or thrombosed external hemorrhoids, recent anal or rectal pain or bleeding, recent fecal impaction with overflow diarrhea, or a history of an ileo-anal pouch. Stop use and contact a healthcare professional for rectal bleeding, significant pain or irritation, or a device that migrates and is not expelled with the next bowel movement. Clinical evidence In a prospective 4-week study of 59 participants, weekly fecal incontinence episodes declined by 69%, and 76.3% achieved at least a 50% reduction. No treatment-related serious adverse events were reported. The study was uncontrolled and short-term, and longer-term research is still needed. Minnesota Medical Technologies funded the study, and relevant inventor and institutional interests were disclosed. Read the peer-reviewed clinical study
