Made from locally sourced rye and barley, 100% floor-malted at the distillery, Stauning R.Y.E. is double distilled in small direct-fired copper pot stills. Distilled on June 20th, 2020, this whisky began its maturation in virgin American oak before being transferred to a 250-litre Palo Cortado Sherry cask, where it will continue to mature until reaching 8 years of age. The combination brings together the bold spice and toasted malt character of Stauning R.Y.E. with the rich, nutty and fruit-driven influence of Palo Cortado. Expect notes of toasted malt, red berries, hazelnut, vanilla and warm spice, followed by tobacco leaves, toffee, raisins, chocolate, figs, coffee, dates and charred oak.
