TSU-TSU Pendant

TSU-TSU Pendant is a ceramic light shaped by clay, fire and rice straw. Made in Japan using the traditional Bizen ware technique of hidasuki, each shade carries its own pattern of soft red markings across an unglazed surface. The pendant casts a direct pool of light below, surrounded by a soft, warm glow. The natural variation in the clay and straw markings gives every light an individual expression, even when several are placed together. Developed in collaboration with designer Shizuka Tatsuno and pottery workshop DAIKURA, TSU-TSU is made in limited quantities. Each shade is wrapped in rice straw before firing; as the straw burns away, it leaves the markings that make every pendant unique.
