60s Vintage Tiffany Blue Brocade Formal Dress Audrey Evening Gown Small VFG

A lovely and elegant Ice Princess of an evening dress! I believe this dress is 1960s vintage. The fitted princess seamed bodice features a bateau neckline in front that scoops lower in the back. The long skirt has shaping darts, but the fullness is created with inverted pleats. The dress is fully lined, and extra body is added at the hem with synthetic horsehair braid. SIZE: No size label Measurements Inches Cm Bust 36" 91.5 Waist 25" 63.5 Hips 56" 142 Bodice length from shoulder seam 15.75" 40 Skirt length 45" 114 Sweep 96" 244 FABRIC/COLORS: A gorgeous brocade with a woven pattern of roses in pale aqua against a white background. Fiber burn test suggests rayon. The dress is fully lined in a pale blue acetate-type fabric. TAGS: No tags. I believe this was custom sewn, at a good skill level. CLOSURES: A long nylon Talon zipper in back CONDITION: The original maker tried to get every bit of length out of the skirt, and didn't leave enough seam allowance. Over time, the hem edge has frayed in multiple areas - see closeup. If you are willing to shorten the skirt by an inch, the fray will be gone. There is also some minor seam stress at one sideseam, and at the zipper just above the waist - see closeups.
