This older presentation of Jura's 21-year-old release was matured in oak casks before receiving a sherry cask finish, producing a rich and full-bodied Highland-style island malt. Located on the Isle of Jura, off Scotland's west coast, Jura Distillery was originally established in 1810 before being rebuilt and reopened in 1963. The distillery is known for producing a generally unpeated style of single malt, with a distinctive fruity and malty character. This 21-year-old release was one of the more mature whiskies in Jura's range during the 2010s, with its extended maturation and sherry finish expected to bring notes of dried fruit, dark chocolate, warming spice and oak. An older bottling from Jura's previous range, produced before the distillery's major packaging and range redesign in 2018.
