五穀の精とされる「雪」をかたどった、雪輪型の錠金具が目を惹く庄内地方の箪笥です。 輪花（りんか）のようにも見える中央の錠金具を中心に、軍配型の取手、双葉に似た四隅の飾り金具、そして丸みを帯びた金具が調和しています。 気品ただよう黒塗りでありながら、どこか親しみある柔らかな印象を感じさせます。 This is a chest from the Shonai region, featuring eye-catching snow-crystal (yukiwara) lock plates modeled after snow, traditionally regarded as the essence of the five grains. Centered around the main lock plate, which almost resembles a multi-petaled flower (rinka), it harmonizes with fan-shaped (gunbai) pulls, leaf-like corner ornaments, and softly rounded hardware. Despite its dignified black-lacquered finish, it exudes a uniquely approachable and gentle charm.
