Nose - The nose is mature with the sweetness in check and a very traditional Kentucky profile. Orange citrus, orange oil, tea and sweet mature oak right out of the gate. Vanilla and lemon buttercream with additional air. Cherry, leather, toffee, and a subtle cocoa are present as well. Palate - The palate is sweeter than the nose suggests with oranges, brown sugar, and peanut brittle to start. Granny Smith Apples with cinnamon, oak, black cherry, and a subtle cocoa become more prominent with air. Finish - The finish is round, mature, complex, and medium length. Aged notes of oak, leather, tobacco, and coffee are accompanied by citrus and cinnamon sugar. The vanilla is present throughout with subtle notes of pecans and cocoa.
