‘Les Oeillets Amphore’

You are cordially invited to get your flags out to fly alongside this concentrated & wonderfully wacky skin-contact Jacquère hailing from the pedicured foot of Mont Granier in Savoie. Winemaker Jean Yves-Péron trained in Bordeaux but moved home to grow grapes on steep & schist-blanketed mountains of French alpine town Savoie. Before orange wine had a young n’ hip following, Jean-Yves was a serious early adopter and with this wine especially, you can tell he’s honed it as a specialty! ‘Les Oeillets’ grapes are picked late in the season, meaning they’re some of his ripest, and after five-ish days of carbonic maceration (for poppy aromas) the wine is aged in terracotta amphora for a year, bringing in even more savoury earth! Get ready for a parade of TEXTURE. Think dehydrated mango, a persimmon moon, milk oolong, red stoneware clay spinning high-speed on the wheel, flowering watercress, lucky iron fish, & ribbed fidget tool. Would be real-yum with grilled octopus and bitter kale. SPECIAL NOTE: This wild & of-the-moment wine is best slurped within a few hours of opening!
