Domaine de la Beche Regnie 2025 750ml
Domaine de la Bêche is a family estate in Beaujolais founded in 1848 and now in its seventh generation. Olivier Depardon has run the domaine since 1985, growing it from four hectares to around 26, and today his son Alexis manages the vineyards and winemaking while his daughter Caroline handles the commercial side. The domaine's Régnié comes from a holding of around four hectares close to the border with Morgon, where the Gamay vines average around 50 years of age and grow on sandy, decomposed granite soils. The grapes are destemmed but not crushed, and fermentation starts spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for around six months in concrete vats, preserving its freshness and perfume. It is a supple, elegant Régnié with perfumed aromatics, juicy red and black fruit, savoury notes and fine tannins. Vintages may vary.
