NEWMARK LITE

Our second visit to planet Telemark starts from where the first one ended. The Newmark Lite is the result of a complete rethink of our historic Newmark binding from 2016. The objective was clear: bring in a lighter, smarter and more versatile form of the Newmark, while applying the technologies, materials and attention to detail that define ATK today. The result is a fully CNC-machined aluminum Telemark binding weighing just 255g in the uphill, equipped with an intuitive step-in system, adjustable emergency release and a removable NTN module. One binding, compatible with all NTN sole lengths and designed to adapt to different skiing styles, from smooth backcountry turns to carving on groomed slopes. Key Features: One Binding to Flex Them All: the Newmark Lite is offered in a single version compatible with all NTN sole lengths. The system can be configured for S and L boot sizes by selecting the correct position of the NTN hook and the dedicated module support installed on the toe piece. Removable NTN module: during the ascent, the entire NTN module can be removed from the binding and carried in a pocket or backpack. Removing the module from the foot provides a tangible advantage during the climb. Weight carried in a backpack is transported continuously, while weight attached to the foot must be repeatedly lifted and accelerated with every step. Snowpack Proof System - NTN: the underside of the NTN module features a completely smooth profile specifically designed to prevent snow accumulation and reduce the typical “snow clog” that can form beneath Telemark bindings. Two spring kits: the Newmark Lite comes with soft springs installed as standard, while a stiffer spring kit is included directly in the box. This allows the skier to adapt the binding response according to personal skiing preferences. Changing between the two configurations is straightforward. The rear caps of the NTN module can be unscrewed, allowing the installed springs to be removed and replaced with the alternative set. Toe piece: Telepathic step-in: immediate and intuitive usability was one of the key objectives behind the Newmark Lite. The toe piece has been designed to make stepping into the binding quick and natural, so the skier can focus on skiing rather than on the binding. Snowpack Proof System: one of ATK’s patented technologies has been integrated into the Newmark Lite to reduce the accumulation of snow beneath the binding mechanism and preserve functionality during use. Six-screw: the toe piece uses a six-screw mounting pattern compatible with the ATK M06 drilling jig. CNC-machined: the structural components are fully CNC machined from aluminum, contributing to the Newmark Lite’s total weight of just 255g in uphill mode. SBC02 Leash Compatibility: the binding is compatible with the ATK SBC02 leash. Adjustable emergency release: the toe piece is equipped with an adjustable emergency release system, situated under the front lever. Uphill System: Heel Riser: simple, reliable and lightweight, the Newmark Lite heel riser is activated by pressing the rear lever. To retract it, simply press it back toward the ski. The heel riser can also be used when climbing without removing the NTN module. In this configuration, keeping the riser engaged prevents the NTN hook from connecting with the second heel of the NTN boot. Performing Through Lightness: Lightness has always been one of the principles behind ATK product development, and the Newmark Lite brings that approach into the Telemark world. Its fully CNC-machined aluminum construction allows the complete binding to reach a total weight of just 480 grams, but the concept of lightness goes beyond the number on the scale. The removable NTN module has been specifically designed to make the uphill phase more efficient (255g in uphill mode). When climbing, the skier can detach the module and carry it in a pocket or backpack instead of lifting its weight with every stride. It is a simple idea with a clear objective: remove unnecessary weight from the foot during the ascent without compromising the character and performance of the binding during the descent. Durability: The Newmark Lite has been developed around fully CNC-machined aluminum structural components, following the same manufacturing approach that characterizes ATK products. Particular attention has also been paid to keeping the system simple and functional in real mountain conditions. The smooth underside of the NTN module helps prevent snow from accumulating beneath the binding, while the heel riser relies on a straightforward and reliable mechanical design. Every component has been conceived to combine low weight, functionality and the precision expected from an ATK binding. Conclusion: The Newmark Lite marks ATK’s return to Telemark with a completely new interpretation of our original 2016 Newmark. At just 255g in uphill mode and 480g in downhill mode, it brings together CNC-machined aluminum construction, intuitive step-in, an adjustable emergency release and a removable NTN module in a binding designed to cover the entire spectrum of Telemark skiing. Its single configuration accommodates all NTN sole lengths, while the included soft and hard spring setups allow skiers to adapt the binding response to their preferred style: from fluid backcountry turns to powerful carving on groomed slopes. And when the direction changes from downhill to uphill, the NTN module can simply be removed and carried in a pocket or backpack, reducing the weight that needs to be lifted at every step.
