Dahlia 'Bazuin Ymke'

Imagine the softest antique rose, warmed by a little salmon pink. Dahlia 'Bazuin Ymke' brings these lovely shades together in beautifully rounded flowers, with closely overlapping petals that curl gently inwards to create an almost perfect sphere. The colouring is particularly appealing, with deeper dusty-pink tones gathered towards the centre and delicate, pale pink edges that give each bloom a softly shaded finish. As the flowers mature, their colours may become lighter, creating subtle variations across the plant. Measuring around 9–11cm across, the blooms are wonderfully neat and balanced, with all the intricate detail that makes ball dahlias so satisfying to admire. Dahlia 'Bazuin Ymke' carries its elegant flowers above fresh green foliage, bringing gentle colour and beautifully structured shapes to the summer border. Those perfectly formed flowers make Dahlia 'Bazuin Ymke' especially appealing for cutting, where their rounded shape adds lovely texture to loose, romantic bouquets. Try combining them with cream dahlias, lavender-blue salvias and airy ornamental grasses, or introduce deeper burgundy flowers for a richer contrast. Growing to around 100–110cm, Dahlia 'Bazuin Ymke' appreciates a sunny, sheltered position in fertile, well-drained soil, with support for its upright stems. Water during dry spells and pick or remove faded blooms regularly to encourage fresh flowers until the first autumn frosts. Start tubers under cover in spring or plant outdoors once frost has passed, lifting them for frost-free winter storage in colder UK gardens. With Dahlia 'Bazuin Ymke', it's easy to appreciate the beauty of a perfectly rounded flower.
