Superflora No. 1 is a one-of-a-kind original painting by Australian artist Kirsten Katz, and the first in the Superflora series. The story behind Superflora A supernova is the moment a star bursts open in a blaze of light and colour. That is the feeling I wanted in these paintings: one big flower at full burst. They began with the native flowers I love most, like the protea, and grew into imaginary blooms of my own. Each Superflora is painted loosely and freely, with bold shapes and layers of colour, so the flower feels like it is opening right in front of you. About this painting One huge fantasy flower opens across a textured pink ground, its layered petals in hot pink, coral, golden yellow, lilac and soft sage. Each petal is outlined in deep green and filled with dots, stripes and fine lines. Beneath it, three smaller blooms rise on curling green stems, with a pink bud tucked into the lower left. It is joyful, modern and full of movement, a painting that brings warmth and energy to any room. Painted in acrylic on a 20 x 20 inch (51 x 51cm) canvas and finished in a natural pine float frame. Signed and titled by hand on the back before it is sent to you, so no signature interrupts the painting itself. Ready to hang.
