Motor show (The Used)
This work is featured in the three-person exhibition "Beyond Words, Outside Meaning," which explores how we typically understand and perceive the world, starting from words and language. This exhibition re-examines the relationship between words and images through expressions that move between seeing and reading, form and meaning. Naoshi Yamamoto's conceptual practice, rooted in calligraphy, involves "writing the name of an object onto the object itself." By superimposing an object with the written characters of its name, he creates moments where "seeing" and "reading" intersect, prompting a re-evaluation of how language shapes our perception.
