Vintage Welsh Wool Tapestry blanket Derw green purple blue VGC double portcullis pattern

A beautiful mid twentieth century (1960s's) vintage Welsh thick double weave pure wool tapestry blanket in a pretty rare colourway of aubergine and lilac purple and greens/slight blues a colourway i’ve not seen very often. Made by the Derw mill Traditional Caernarfon / Portcullis design reversible blanket with contrasting looks to the front and reverse. Finished with blanket stitched edging along the two shorter sides and fringed edges on the longer sides Hand-crafted using traditional methods. It's very large (88" / 218cm x 74"/ 183 cm) and substantial, weighing over 3.5kg. Fits a standard double bed as shown The colours are even with no fading, and there's no marks, damage or holes. Very carefully owned and in lovely condition it’s rare to find one in as good condition.
