Coconut Coated Fruit, 300g

Coconut Coated Fruit is sun-dried stonefruit softened, rolled in coconut and chopped into bite-sized pieces, sold in a 300 g tub. The maker calls them Fruity Bites and lists nectarine, plum, peach, apricot and cherry. It says there is no added dairy, wheat, colours or flavours. Everything starts as a sheet of dried fruit. The FAQ describes fresh fruit pureed, poured into trays and left on drying tables in the sun for 10 to 12 days. For the coated lines the sheet is softened through an extruder, then coated and cut into pieces. Here the coating is coconut. Of the Solarfruit lines we list, this is the soft coconut one. Dark Choc Coated Fruit uses the same bite-sized pieces in chocolate, Fruit Platter Pieces are plain squares with no coating, and the Giant Fruit Roll is the whole sheet rolled up. The FAQ says coconut-coated fruit can discolour with age because the coconut absorbs moisture from the fruit, and that no fridge is needed. The product page gives no serving suggestions or full ingredient list. Made by Solarfruit, a family business in Donnybrook.
