🎄 Little Donkey – Family Paint Afternoon at Neigh 🎄 A Cosy Christmas Family Painting Workshop at Watlington Hill Farm Sanctuary 📅 Sunday 20th December 🕒 3:00 PM 📍 Neigh, Watlington Hill Farm Sanctuary, Watlington Hill, Christmas Common, Oxfordshire, OX49 5HS 💛 Family Painting Session – “Little Donkey” Come and spend a wonderfully festive afternoon with Toni from Easely Does It in the barn at Neigh, where we’ll be painting our adorable Little Donkey. With his sweet face, wonderfully expressive ears and plenty of character, Little Donkey is the perfect subject for a Christmas painting session – particularly when you’re surrounded by the four-legged residents of the sanctuary! Working on an 8″ × 10″ stretched canvas using acrylic paints, Toni will guide everyone through the painting one step at a time, making this a lovely workshop for children and grown-ups to enjoy together. And because we’ll be painting in the barn in December, please wrap up warm! 🧣🧤 It’s a wonderfully atmospheric setting for a Christmas workshop, but it can get chilly, so warm coats, jumpers and plenty of layers are definitely recommended. 🎨 Paint Your Own Little Donkey We’ll break the painting down into easy-to-follow stages, so there’s absolutely no need for any previous painting experience. During the workshop, you’ll learn how to: ✨ Build your donkey using simple shapes 🫏 Create those fabulous ears and gentle little face 🎨 Mix colours and build up your donkey’s coat 🖌️ Add texture using different brushstrokes 👀 Give your donkey plenty of expression and personality ✨ Use highlights and shadows to bring your painting to life 🎄 Add your own finishing touches to make your Little Donkey unique Everyone will be working from the same painting, but we absolutely encourage a bit of individuality. Change the colours, add extra details or give your donkey a personality all of his own. We’ll show you how – you make him yours! A Rather Perfect Place to Paint a Donkey It would be difficult to find a more fitting setting for Little Donkey than Neigh. Your workshop takes place at Neigh at Watlington Hill Farm Sanctuary, nestled in the countryside at Christmas Common and home to a variety of rescued animals. There’s something rather special about settling down in the barn, paintbrush in hand, surrounded by the sights and sounds of a real animal sanctuary while creating your own little donkey on canvas. It might not be the warmest art studio we’ve ever used – but it could well be one of the most memorable! ❤️ 🧣 IMPORTANT – WRAP UP WARM! This workshop takes place in the barn and it will be December, so please come dressed for the weather. We strongly recommend: 🧥 A warm coat 🧣 Plenty of layers 🧤 Gloves for before and after painting 🧦 Warm socks 🥾 Sensible, warm footwear You need to be able to move your arms comfortably while painting, so lots of cosy layers are probably your best bet. We’ll bring the paints – you bring the thermals! 😄 👨‍👩‍👧 A Family Painting Workshop This is a family session and not a drop-off workshop, so a parent or responsible adult must remain onsite throughout. Grown-ups don’t have to sit on the sidelines either. If you fancy painting your own Little Donkey, simply book yourself a place and join in. Our family workshops are relaxed and beginner friendly, and Toni will demonstrate every stage before everyone has a go. There are no prizes for finishing first and absolutely no pressure to create a perfect copy.
