WELSH SWALLOW TAIL ARROWHEAD C.1400
Possibly recovered from the battlefield at Agincourt where Welsh bowmen decimated the French cavalry in 1415, winning the day. See The Lanes Armoury for a virtually identical example returned from France by an English Grand Tourist in the 18th century. 2 5/8” length, forged iron of elegant form. Surface oxidation, and the base of the socket eroded, otherwise excellent as made.
