Vintage Citrine Pendant Necklace by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta

A striking modernist pendant, designed by Elis Kauppi for the Finnish company Kupittaan Kulta. The design is reduced to a few bold geometric shapes: an elongated silver bar, a wide bail, and a deep rectangular setting holding a large oval faceted citrine. The stone fills almost the entire front and remains visible from the open back, allowing light to play beautifully through the facets. The pendant is hallmarked on the back with the Kupittaan Kulta anvil and the 925S silver mark. It comes on a polished gourmet chain made of sterling silver. The chain is not marked as an original part of the design, but complements it beautifully. The pendant is in good vintage condition. The silver shows fine scratches and normal signs of wear, particularly on the corners and the front of the rectangular setting. These marks are visible but do little to detract from the bold appeal of the design.
